As a Service Technician, you will play a vital role in installing and repairing propane tanks for our customers while ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Safely operate a propane service vehicle with lift gate and boom along provided service routes
- Perform repairs on existing propane tanks for commercial and residential customers
- Install new propane tanks/systems for commercial and residential customers
- On an as-needed basis, perform Delivery Representative functions, such as delivering bulk or canister propane
- Perform all daily functions in a safe manner by adhering to all federal and state codes and regulations in addition to all AmeriGas Safety and Operations Policies and Procedures
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid CDL A or B license
- Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements required or willing to obtain
- Must have a minimum of 6 months CDL driving experience with a clean driving record
- Must have previous employment experience working with hand tools
- Previous HVAC, Plumbing, Maintenance, or Mechanical experience preferred
- Propane industry experience is a plus
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to load/unload 50-pound cylinders (up to 200/day) and pull 75-pound hoses that are 150 feet or more
- Satisfactory completion of a DOT physical, drug test and background check
- Hourly rate: $28
- Average of 40-50 hours weekly
- Overtime pay after 40 hours worked at time and a half
- $5,000 sign-on bonus – $2,500 paid after 90 days and $2,500 paid after 1 year
- $2,500 employee referral program
- Paid via direct deposit bi-weekly
As a Service Technician, you will work outdoors in all weather conditions, operating a propane service vehicle with lift gate and boom. You will be responsible for installing and repairing propane tanks for commercial and residential customers, as well as performing Delivery Representative functions as needed.
