Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Anthropology courses at Joliet Junior College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the department's curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Anthropology courses in a face-to-face setting, adhering to departmental curriculum and grading standards.
  • Participate in annual student and chair/coordinator evaluations, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Comply with departmental policies, procedures, and regulations, including FERPA, ADA, and other relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues, students, and community members, demonstrating cultural competence and emotional intelligence.
  • Meet contractual obligations as outlined in the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Anthropology or a related field.
  • 18 hours of graduate credit in Anthropology.
  • Expertise in instructional technologies and a commitment to teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment, promoting respect, inclusion, and cultural competence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Anthropology.
  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level, preferably in a community college setting.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including traditional and non-traditional students.
  • English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
  • Demonstrated multicultural competence and a commitment to social justice.
