Key Responsibilities- Assist medical personnel in the care or treatment of residents with diverse conditions/diagnoses.
- Prepare, ambulate, transport, and position residents with the use of equipment.
- Provide a variety of personal care, including bathing, shaving, feeding, incontinence care, trimming nails, range of motion, and ambulation of residents.
- Perform a wide variety of duties aimed at increasing the comfort and spirit of the resident.
- Encourage residents and assist in completing restorative programs.
- Recognize and report obvious changes in resident condition.
- Deliver care to residents in a respectful, non-judgmental manner.
- Maintain resident privacy/confidentiality and residents' rights to privacy/confidentiality.
- Accurately document resident information on flow sheets and Computerized Patient Records System (CPRS).
- Provide resident information to the accountable LPN/RN for inclusion in the resident's plan of care.
- Complete assignments, report to the accountable LPN/RN when assignment has been completed, or when unable to complete activities.
- Able to adjust to assignment changes.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and regular salary increases. The selected applicant will be required to complete an online onboarding process and pass a pre-employment physical examination/evaluation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and training will be provided. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
Requirements- You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job.
- All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- You may be required to serve a probationary period.
- Subject to background/security investigation.
