The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety of our workforce while achieving optimal production efficiency and maintaining the highest standards of food quality. This role requires strict adherence to PURIS' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Quality Standards. Additionally, the supervisor must embody and promote the PURIS Core Values: Integrity, Leadership, Openness, Global Vision, Adaptability, and Partnership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee plant production output while ensuring a safe environment for both personnel and food products, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize resource use across the production process.
  • Manage and organize a team of over 30 front-line managers and technicians.
  • Develop and implement annual, monthly, and weekly production schedules aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide safety leadership on the production floor through training and exemplary conduct.
  • Contribute to the creation of improvement plans focused on process efficiency and new product development.
  • Lead and manage production operations, holding the team accountable for performance improvements.
  • Coordinate weekly maintenance activities with production schedules to resolve any conflicts.
  • Develop and maintain a staffing plan to support continuous operations.
  • Manage standard work documentation and training systems effectively.
  • Lead periodic Clean In Place (CIP) processes to ensure operational cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on planned projects, providing insights from the production team to inform strategic decisions.
  • Be available for occasional shifts outside of regular hours, including weekends.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Technical/Vocational Degree with proven technical and analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a process plant environment, ideally in managerial or senior engineering roles.
  • Proven experience in operations safety leadership.
  • Demonstrated involvement in process improvement initiatives and methodologies.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or similar operations, with knowledge of food safety standards and CIP processes preferred.
  • Experience in a 24/7 operational environment is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including familiarity with A3, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and address groups.
  • Sound judgment, business acumen, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
