Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic 8-10 to join our team at the State of Michigan. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for inspecting, installing, and repairing plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and repair plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
  • Install and maintain heating and hot water systems, including boilers, circulating pumps, expansion tanks, and heat exchangers
  • Work on lift stations and HVAC computerized controls, refrigeration systems, and other related equipment
  • Ensure facilities are in compliance with policy directives, operating procedures, authorities, and regulations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or experience in mechanical or electrical trades preferred
  • At least two years of experience assisting skilled trades workers in the mechanical or electrical trades; completion of a recognized program in vocational training may be substituted for experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC computerized controls, refrigeration systems, and lift stations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
