Job Summary

University of Utah Health is seeking a skilled Music Therapist PRN to join our team. As a patient-focused organization, we prioritize providing exceptional care to our patients. This role will involve providing therapeutic and evidence-based interventions to meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the needs of each patient and therapeutic milieu served.
  • Perform assessments to determine deficits, strengths, functioning needs, and precautions addressable through music therapy.
  • Systematic evaluation of therapy results, documentation, and patient discharge planning.
  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team and contribute to service delivery, quality improvement initiatives, and policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in music therapy or a Music Therapy equivalency.
  • Board certification (MT-BC) through the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in music therapy, two years of related experience, and Utah State Certified Music Therapist (SCMT) acquired through DOPL.
Working Conditions

This position involves intermediate working conditions in a healthcare setting that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving patients or objects, such as medical equipment, while providing patient care.
