Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team in Newton, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced RN to provide high-quality patient care in our Labor and Delivery unit. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide population-specific care in accordance with BORN regulations and professional standards of care
  • Oversee other assigned team members and ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field
Requirements:
  • Current MA RN license
  • Minimum of 1-2 years L&D nursing experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills
  • Fetal Monitoring preferred

The registered nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. The registered nurse provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Oversees other assigned team members and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide population-specific care in accordance with the BORN regulations and professional standards of care. Current MA RN license required. Minimum of 1-2 years L&D nursing experience is required. Job Knowledge and Skills Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, and conflict management skills required. Fetal Monitoring preferred. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor degree in nursing, required. Demonstrated clinical competence and experience as required by the specific job posting. 2 years L&D experience required, unless otherwise noted in job posting. Training Certifications and/or Registrations CPR Training required within first 3 months of employment. Evidence of continued education and professional development. Certification or advanced training in specialty area preferred. NRP required within the first 6 months of employment. Physical Environment: The RN works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials such as chemotherapeutic agents, radioisotopes, and radiation. Caring for patients also involves exposure to human waste and other unpleasant elements. Other duties may include general cleaning with exposure to dirt, odors, cramped quarters, etc. RN's may work with angry, agitated, and combative patients.
