Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Day Kimball Healthcare. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care and support to our orthopedic department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with direct patient care procedures, including vital sign checks, patient intake, and medical examinations.
  • Accurately transcribe physicians' orders and complete necessary forms and communications.
  • Schedule and monitor patient appointments, coordinating routine office activities and administrative functions.
  • Perform routine specialized procedures, such as sterile dressing changes, under established protocols.
  • Maintain stocks of medicines and medical supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with orientation of new staff members and educate patients on medical issues within established parameters.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR training required.
  • Successful completion of CMA or CNA Program preferred.
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred.
  • One to three years experience in a clinical position preferred.
  • Prior computer experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to three years experience as a nursing or medical assistant or in a related field.
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and control the flow of communication and tasks within the job duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision and with time limitations.
  • Ability to perform detailed assignments, work accurately, follow directions, and assess priorities.
  • Good physical and mental health, able to assist with heavy lifting and capable of working under pressure.
  • Ability to demonstrate sincere concern in caring for patients who are ill, and willing to be accountable for maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn procedures and techniques involved in administering basic patient care.
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to deal with patients, their families, and visitors with patience and tact.
