Job Summary:The Operating Room Registered Nurse is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the healthcare team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards and identify and prioritize patient and family needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing plan of care, modifying it as needed to meet clinical outcomes.
- Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, including nursing-sensitive indicators, and participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives.
- Creates an attentive, helpful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff, and develops therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Recognizes, appreciates, and incorporates a patient's and family's unique differences into an individualized plan of care.
- Preserves and protects the confidentiality, autonomy, dignity, and rights of patients and families, and represents their concerns.
- Works collaboratively and interdependently with colleagues and community to develop and implement an integrated plan of care.
- Grad of an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
- Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
