Job Summary:

Code Red Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team of experts in fire and life safety consulting. As a Fire Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of people and property by providing expert advice on fire and life safety issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site visual inspections of existing buildings to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Develop comprehensive code reports outlining a building's fire protection and life safety features and its compliance with applicable codes.
  • Perform code reviews of architectural and engineering plans to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Attend meetings with clients, owners, and authorities having jurisdiction to review code compliance strategies and solutions.
  • Provide performance-based design solutions, including fire modeling, egress modeling, and structural fire resistance analyses.
  • Develop code summary, life safety, and egress plans illustrating fire protection and life safety features of buildings in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform inspections of fire protection and life safety systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, architectural, or industrial engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of experience in fire protection and life safety engineering and/or FP system/fire alarm design.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage to deadlines, be detail-oriented, and deal with changes.
  • Proactive communication and time management skills.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred, along with a desire to obtain Professional Engineering Licensure.
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit experience preferred.
