Position Overview:
The Physician Relations Manager is responsible for developing strategic initiatives to foster and expand relationships with hospital clients and their outpatient services.
This role requires a disciplined and tactical approach to managing the assigned territory, building strategic partnerships, and driving market share growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage territory by leading relationship development and generating new business opportunities.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with referring physicians, schedulers, and office staff across primary, secondary, and tertiary service areas.
- Design and adhere to a structured call route for effective outreach.
- Conduct routine cold calls to new physician offices.
- Act as a liaison between the hospital and physician offices to identify customer needs and concerns.
- Collaborate with hospital physician liaisons to coordinate field activities and gather market feedback.
- Strategically manage territory to increase referrals and drive outpatient volumes.
- Monitor competition in the outpatient marketplace and benchmark services accordingly.
- Lead marketing initiatives by developing and implementing promotional strategies, including creating marketing materials and planning educational programs.
- Work closely with the hospital's marketing team to execute targeted marketing efforts.
- Research potential growth areas and solicit feedback from referring physicians to enhance service offerings.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement plans to address issues.
- Engage with various departments to resolve challenges and complete tasks effectively.
- Regularly report on activity levels and outcomes related to volume growth and problem resolution.
- Stay informed about advancements in medical imaging and related service lines.
- Ensure compliance with information security policies and maintain data confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in healthcare or medical devices.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Existing relationships with physicians/medical offices in the territory are preferred.
- Highly motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset for continuous process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
