Job Title: Shuttle Van Driver

Job Summary:

The Shuttle Van Driver is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services to students, faculty, and staff. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport passengers to and from designated destinations in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ensure the shuttle bus is clean and well-maintained, adhering to school and DOT standards.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the shuttle bus is in good working condition.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, if needed.
  • Prepare and submit accident/incident reports promptly.
  • Conduct daily/routine cleaning and shuttle maintenance activities.
  • Comply with State driving regulations and procedures.
  • Use a two-way radio to interact and communicate professionally with the transportation team and/or supervisor.
  • Report accidents, problems, and other required shuttle information to management promptly.
  • Keep the shuttle bus secure and follow all safety procedures.
  • Respond to all passenger inquiries respectfully.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Class B license with passenger endorsement and at least two years of licensed driving experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Ability to meet the following MVR guidelines: clean driving record, no moving violations in 3 years, no DUI's, suspended licenses, etc. in 5 years.
  • Ability to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, up to 4 hours daily.
