Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist, Radiology

Job Summary:

As an Ultrasound Technologist, Radiology, you will be responsible for performing ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians. You will produce images of internal body tissues to diagnose and monitor various conditions, such as heart disease, pregnancy, and cancer. You will also supervise and mentor ultrasound personnel, maintain equipment, and adhere to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use ultrasound equipment to direct high-frequency sound waves to a prescribed area of the patient's body and capture quality images that describe the composition, shape, and motion of tissues, organs, vessels, and pathology.
  • Summarize, document, verify, and present images, findings, calculations, and measurements to physicians for diagnoses.
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and ability to cooperate, positioning patients and equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and continually monitoring and recording vital signs.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and billing information, ensuring the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to HIPAA and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
  • Prepare rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures, verify operational status of equipment prior to daily utilization, and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/certificate from an Ultrasound college/school: Required
  • Licenses/Certifications: ACR Accredited Sites, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular (RVT), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS), or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S) or (VS) within one year of hire: Required in CA and HI (with multiple areas Preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS certification: Required
