Position Title: Automotive Worker Mech II

Position Summary: We are looking for a proficient and knowledgeable Automotive Worker Mech II to execute a range of minor repairs and maintenance services to ensure the optimal performance of motor vehicles. The ideal candidate will be tasked with responsibilities including battery replacements, tire rotations and repairs, vehicle cleaning, and assisting with significant overhaul projects. This role also encompasses field-level maintenance on U.S. Military automotive equipment, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and repair timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on motor vehicles.
  • Apply and maintain vehicle decals.
  • Inspect and replace batteries as needed.
  • Rotate, repair, and replace tires efficiently.
  • Thoroughly wash, polish, and clean vehicle interiors and exteriors.
  • Drain, flush, and replace fluids in engines, transmissions, and differentials.
  • Inspect, clean, calibrate, and replace spark plugs.
  • Change oil and air filters as required.
  • Adjust braking systems for optimal performance.
  • Replace windshield wipers and other minor components.
  • Assist in major repair projects by disassembling and cleaning parts.
  • Repair essential components such as generators and water pumps.
  • Replace thermostats, electrical wiring, and other necessary items.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring clean work areas.
  • Utilize personal and government-furnished tools for preventative maintenance and general repairs on automotive tactical and combat equipment.
  • Perform field-level maintenance on U.S. Military automotive equipment, including inspections, parts identification, requisitioning, servicing, and repairs.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
  • Handle hazardous materials and waste responsibly during job duties.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations for hazardous materials handling and disposal.
  • Manage the movement of materials and assets using forklifts and dollies.
  • Be prepared to deploy for equipment issuing or receipt as directed.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as mandated.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Secure and maintain local base access.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Certification from a vocational school or related field.
  • Completion of a basic automotive maintenance training course.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical instructions, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Possess personal tools that meet the required tool list.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for 2 to 3 hours daily.
  • Ability to walk for 4 to 5 hours daily.
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 35 lbs. to 50 lbs. periodically.
  • Ability to squat, kneel, bend, reach, and climb as necessary.
  • Ability to work in both outdoor and indoor non-climate-controlled environments.
