We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Biorepository Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Biopathology Center within The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in the acquisition, processing, and storage of human biospecimens for clinical trials, research, and patient care.
Responsibilities- Handle and process various types of human biospecimens, including fresh and frozen biofluids, tissue, and glass slides.
- Perform data entry in the laboratory information management system, including reviewing biospecimen-related documentation and data entry.
- Prepare biospecimens and related data for shipment to clinical laboratories, research investigators, and other external sites.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to laboratory protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective biospecimen processing and handling.
- Bachelor's degree in a biological, chemical, or physical science (preferred) or associate degree in a related field with relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
