Torrance Memorial Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping EVS I to join our team. As a Housekeeping EVS I, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform terminal cleaning, including a complete ceiling-to-floor cleaning of the environment, including changing of bed linen upon patient discharge.
  • Move and arrange furniture for meetings and departmental moves, and perform cleaning procedures for other areas of the hospital, including restrooms, offices, waiting areas, staff lounges, exam rooms, and corridors.
  • Clean assigned areas of the hospital, including floors, walls, sinks, and lavatories, office areas, and furniture, using prescribed procedures.
  • Replenish supplies of paper products, hand sanitizer, and hand soap.
  • Collect medical waste and transport it to designated storage areas.
  • Collect solid waste and transport it to the loading dock for compacting.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in a clean and eye-pleasing condition.
  • Respond to calls for special cleaning assistance from other departments.
  • Collect soiled linen and transport bags to the dock area for pick-up.
  • Keep supervisors informed of unusual conditions, security, safety, or health hazards.
  • Perform daily and discharged cleaning procedures for both isolation and non-isolation patient rooms.
  • Perform carpet cleaning procedures, including spot cleaning, water extraction, and bonnet cleaning.
  • Perform hard surfaces floor maintenance procedures, including auto scrubbing, burnishing, stripping, and refinishing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Compensation Range: $23.00 - $23.57 / Hour
