Position Overview

Chandler Regional Medical Center is seeking a qualified Travel EEG Technologist to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care in various healthcare settings while traveling.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: BLS certification is required.
  • Essential Skills: Candidates must possess strong High-Level Disinfection (HLD) skills and comprehensive general gastrointestinal (GI) skills, including biopsy, snare, gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) management, injections, banding, and dilation techniques using balloon or savory/Maloney dilators.
Job Responsibilities
  • A healthcare facility is looking for an experienced GI/Endoscopy Technician for a travel assignment.
  • Common Diagnoses: Candidates will encounter a variety of cases, including general and advanced GI procedures such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), Ion, Bravo, and GI bleeding cases.
  • Vaccination Policy: COVID vaccination is mandatory, or a declination form with appropriate documentation from a clergy member or medical doctor is required.
Candidate Requirements
  • Applicants must not have worked in Arizona as a permanent staff employee for the past 12 months and should not currently hold a position at an acute care hospital or hospital system in Arizona.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and maintain an active BLS certification.
Work Schedule
  • Typical shifts are from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexibility in start and end times based on case volumes.
  • Weekend support is required, with a rotation for primary technician on call.
  • Self-scheduling is encouraged, with the understanding that shifts may vary according to patient needs.
  • Occasional late stays may be necessary for the last cases of the day, with a call response time of 30 minutes.
Unit Specific Information
  • Unit: Endoscopy Tech
  • Facility Capacity: 2 procedure rooms and 15 pre/post-operative beds.
  • Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 2 patients.
  • Required Skills: Candidates must demonstrate meticulous HLD skills and solid general GI skills.
Additional Information
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience is required, ideally within the last 6 months.
  • No Tele/Monitor Technologists are present on this unit, and RN's are not required to interpret their own telemetry strips.
  • Charge Nurse may take assignments as needed.
  • No Nurse Aides are available on this unit.
  • Anesthesia is responsible for all Endoscopy cases.
  • Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs (blue).
  • Orientation: Unit-specific orientation will be provided.
  • Case Volume: High volume of advanced GI cases, approximately 20 cases per day, with a preference for advanced GI skills in EUS, EBUS, ERCP, and stone management.
