Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team at Hart Medical Equipment. As a key member of our patient care operation, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their needs are met with the highest level of professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist internal and external customers in a professional manner, providing timely and accurate information and support.
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers at all times, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Receive and process requests from multiple sources, including phone, fax, e-commerce, and in-person, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of equipment services.
  • Coordinate home equipment service requests with Dispatch, ensuring timely delivery and installation of medical equipment.
  • Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information and diffusing angry customers as needed.
  • Provide customers with product and service information, including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment.
  • Verify medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services, ensuring accurate and compliant billing.
  • Follow policy and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance claims.
  • Meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service, striving to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Make sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 6 months of relevant customer service experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good data entry skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, with strong typing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
