Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician (A or B level) to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough test drives of vehicles prior to service to confirm customer concerns and assess drivability issues.
  • Inspect and evaluate vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical systems to accurately diagnose issues and document findings for necessary repairs.
  • Utilize protective seat covers and floor mats during service to maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Follow company diagnostic protocols to ensure all critical components are inspected.
  • Adhere to state regulations by performing engine, safety, and emissions tests using advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Employ systematic testing methods to identify the root cause of vehicle problems.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems to pinpoint failing components.
  • Perform check engine light diagnostics and brake inspections.
  • Document all diagnostic steps and repair recommendations clearly on work orders.
  • Complete complimentary vehicle inspection forms before returning work orders to service advisors.
  • Ensure all repairs meet high-quality standards, providing customers with confidence in the longevity of their repairs.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire services, and state inspections as needed.
  • Conduct repairs in accordance with established company procedures, using only high-quality parts.
  • Verify the effectiveness of repairs through comprehensive test drives along designated routes.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required within the scope of the role.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred; vocational training or apprenticeship completion is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in automotive repair with a solid understanding of diagnostic systems.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license and ASE certifications are required.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and time management abilities; detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment is essential.
  • Reasoning Ability: Capable of following detailed instructions and managing priorities effectively.
