Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Athletic Trainer to join our esteemed team at JAG Physical Therapy. As an integral member of our athletic training department, you will be responsible for providing expert medical support to athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout various events and competitions. Your extensive knowledge and experience in sports medicine, combined with your exceptional communication skills, will enable you to effectively manage emergency situations, coordinate medical care, and maintain accurate health records. By working closely with our healthcare professionals, you will contribute to the development and implementation of preventative care programs, promoting healthy habits and education among local schools, coaches, and communities.
Key Responsibilities
Your role as an Athletic Trainer will involve:
- Providing medical coverage for athletic events and competitions, utilizing your expertise in injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Maintaining a safe playing environment by monitoring environmental risks and implementing control measures.
- Coordinating medical care, including emergency response, first aid, and proper documentation of injuries and illnesses.
- Developing and implementing preventative care programs, focusing on health education, injury prevention, and risk management.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists and physicians, to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Documenting athlete health records, adhering to state licensure standards and HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
To excel in this rewarding role, you must possess:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-approved program.
- State licensure as an Athletic Trainer in New Jersey.
- Current BLS certification.
- The ability to obtain NJ Department of Education (DOE) clearance.
- Flexibility and adaptability to address fluid situations.
