The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in advocating for patients and applying the nursing process across all age groups throughout their healthcare journey. This process encompasses assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, all grounded in scientific and evidence-based practices. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care, striving for optimal outcomes while recognizing the importance of each participant in the care process.

The RN is well-versed in the professional scope of practice and adheres to the ANA nurse practice standards, fulfilling these obligations in a legal, professional, and ethical manner.

This role requires flexibility, allowing the RN to make informed care decisions based on the patient's condition, continuously reassessing and prioritizing care according to individual needs.

Minimum Educational Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN is preferred.

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Previous nursing experience in a related field is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Active nursing license in the State of Vermont.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Unit-specific certifications as necessary (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC) according to departmental operational guidelines.
  • Completion of a certified patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program as per unit-specific protocols.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Proven proficiency in acute-care nursing practices and skills.
  • Moderate proficiency in basic computer operations.

Compensation Range = $55.09
