Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at the Medical College of Wisconsin. As a key member of our Pulmonary and Critical Care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our 26-bed Medical ICU.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to diagnose and treat complex patients in the ICU setting.
- Facilitate communication with patients, families, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Evaluate quality outcomes and participate in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboards.
- Participate in daily rounds with the Attending Intensivist Physician team and present 24-hour patient reports.
- Perform advanced procedures, including minor suturing, line and tube placements, and ultrasound-guided evaluations and procedures.
- Act as a liaison for communication of care plans and discharge destinations from the ICU to floor teams.
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifying normal and abnormal findings.
- Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests.
- Write accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and admission and transfer orders.
- Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans and monitor their effectiveness.
- Educate patients on disease and treatment plans.
- Perform procedures as trained and credentialed.
- Document within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete other necessary documents.
- Collaborate and consult with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed.
- Educate, counsel, and assist patients and families regarding current health problems, health maintenance activities, and preventive behaviors.
- Attend required training and meet key regulatory requirements.
