Job Summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a skilled Photographer to capture the essence of our Newcomer Youth Summer Academy (NYSA) program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for documenting the academic, creative arts, physical education, and life skills classes, as well as capturing candid moments and portraits of students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Photograph NYSA events, classes, and activities, including staff training, first day of school, in-class and around-school candid photographs, mid-day community events, field trips, student and staff yearbook portraits, and graduation.
  • Provide high-quality stock photos for internal and external purposes, including newsletters, funder reports, and yearbooks.
  • Collaborate with the Yearbook Coordinator and Graphic Designer to ensure the Academy is well-documented and the Yearbook is a valued item of memorabilia for students and families.
  • Communicate regularly with IRC administrators, Yearbook Coordinator, and Graphic Designer to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of photos.
  • Edit photo rolls and photos to ensure high-quality output.
Requirements
  • Photographer with at least two years of experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Flexible and able to solve problems.
  • High level of cultural competence.
  • Fluency with photo editing programs.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and youth is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Consent to photos being the property of IRC and not for use by the photographer without IRC's permission.
