The Infrastructure Systems Specialist will become a vital member of EG's Systems Infrastructure team, tasked with overseeing all technological layers within our environment, encompassing networking, servers, and application services. This role reports directly to the Head of Infrastructure. Our infrastructure is constructed using contemporary technologies, emphasizing the development of robust, reusable components and strategic automation.

Initially, the Infrastructure Systems Specialist will concentrate on routine system administration and end-user support, with the potential to evolve into managing various aspects of our systems infrastructure over time, ultimately leading significant projects independently. The ideal candidate will exhibit technical proficiency in previously engaged areas and possess the capability to think systematically and analyze unfamiliar challenges. While new team members will receive guidance and mentorship, they are also expected to conduct independent research and propose solutions to emerging issues as well as enhancements to existing processes.

This position requires in-office presence and includes physical responsibilities such as in-person support and workstation modifications. Occasional regional travel may also be necessary.

Key Exposure Includes:

  • A large, Linux-centric, multi-tenant public cloud environment
  • Configuration management tools such as Ansible, and infrastructure management tools like Terraform
  • Extensive use of cloud-managed services (DBaaS, IaaS, etc.) to alleviate maintenance burdens from the team
  • Diverse databases, including relational, columnar, and NoSQL
  • User-facing systems across various platforms (Windows, Macs, Linux endpoints, both physical and virtual)
  • A SaaS-heavy corporate environment prioritizing flexibility and agility over traditional on-premise technologies
  • Cloud-native video conferencing and telephony systems
  • Various storage technologies, including object storage, file sharing systems, and cloud-based platforms

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of professional experience in a technology-related domain
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Capability to manage projects autonomously
  • Quick learner of new platforms and technologies
  • Experience in server administration - Windows and/or Linux
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (Powershell, Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Familiarity with mobile device management controls (MDM/MAM)
  • Experience with videoconferencing and telephony systems
  • Desktop support expertise across multiple operating systems - Windows, Mac, and Linux
  • High-touch, white-glove end-user support
  • Administration of Windows and Active Directory
  • Email system management and support
  • Knowledge of security and compliance controls (endpoint security, firewalls, etc.)
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (particularly AWS)
  • Database administration experience
  • Background in the financial industry

The anticipated salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $130,000, exclusive of potential bonuses or additional compensation. Actual remuneration for successful candidates will be determined based on various factors, including skills, qualifications, education, and experience.
