Radiation Oncology Leadership Opportunity
The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration invites applications for a distinguished physician leader to serve as the Lead Physician for Radiation Oncology Services. This senior-level position will oversee the strategic direction and operational excellence of the radiation oncology program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve on various medical center planning committees, advisory groups, and chartered action teams to drive quality improvements.
- Direct clinical and administrative performance measures to ensure optimal radiation oncology services delivery.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Radiology to develop and implement service line strategic plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Design and execute systematic improvement plans for quality measures, access, and medical services delivery.
- Liaise with affiliated schools to address medical teaching issues and provider appointments.
- Develop and maintain program monitors and outcome measurements using data-driven quality assurance processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State laws governing the radiation oncology program.
- Effectively manage Veteran complaints and issues.
- Contribute to the development of program goals and objectives aligning with VHA Radiation Oncology Care requirements.
- Participate in performance appraisals of staff and address disciplinary issues.
- Engage in clinical teaching to enhance professional growth and development.
- Supervise both clinical and administrative personnel to foster a collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
- United States Citizenship.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year, and possible 5-day paid absence for CME).
Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): up to $200,000 in student loan repayment assistance.
Salary: Competitive salary ($375,000 - $425,000), annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
