Responsibilities
- Works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager or designated supervisor in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment adhering to Q7A standards.
- Assists with new industrial installations and maintenance repairs. Tasks are performed based on verbal and written work orders, which may include guidelines and drawings, and typically do not require independent judgment.
Key Duties
- Acts as a helper to pipefitters, ironworkers, painters, insulators, and maintenance mechanics during new installations and repairs of existing systems.
- Implements company maintenance material standards and generates material lists/quantities as necessary for specific projects.
- Disassembles ductwork on packaging lines.
- Supports Maintenance Mechanics in routine tasks.
- Assists in completing work orders.
- Participates in preventive maintenance as directed.
- Ability to rebuild pumps; training will be provided.
- Executes required tasks safely and punctually.
- Organizes and transports various items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies) to ensure material availability for efficient task execution.
- Responds to urgent situations to address immediate safety concerns.
- Performs any additional tasks deemed necessary by Management for the improvement of Jost operations.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Training or experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of:
- Basic Arithmetic and Geometry.
- Basic industrial safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Skills in:
- Organizing tools and materials.
- Using standard tools and equipment in the insulating trade.
- Functioning independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Interpreting drawings, instructions, and service manuals.
- Ability to:
- Work in extreme cold and hot (up to 120F) industrial environments.
- Follow oral and written instructions, sketches, and diagrams in English.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Work safely from ladders and scaffolds.
- Adhere to established company policies and procedures.
- Operate and maintain a wide variety of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Exhibit manual dexterity, perceptual speed, and flexibility.
- Adapt to rapidly changing priorities based on business needs.
- Pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen and physical capabilities test.
