Donation Attendant

At The Salvation Army Central Territory, we are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a FT Donation Attendant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our donors, maintaining a clean and organized donation area, and handling transactions with accuracy.

• Provide professional appearance and maintain a friendly demeanor at all times
• Greet donors and offer assistance as needed
• Maintain a clean and well-organized donation area
• Responsible for all operations and security matters while on duty
• Receive and receipt all donated materials, ensuring email addresses are obtained from donors
• Safeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment
• Track donations according to center policy
• Courteously advise donors of unacceptable materials and offer pick-up services for heavy materials
• Power sort donations as needed
• Report complaints, damage, and injuries occurring on or near the donation area
• Sort, load, and unload SA trucks according to center policy

• High School Diploma or currently pursuing
• Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication
• Basic computer skills, including payroll program and ability to learn other programs
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving concrete variables
• Ability to use basic math skills
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

The work environment for this position is a store environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and experience temperature fluctuations based on weather. May stand for extended periods and be routinely exposed to outdoor weather.
