Quality Inspector

SKF is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team in Winsted, CT. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing visual inspections on ceramics balls to ensure they meet SKF or customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform white/black light visual inspections on ceramics balls at various magnifications.
  • Ensure applicable inspection equipment is in calibration before use.
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming product and initiate Discrepancy Reports.
  • Comply with stamp control procedures and assure lot and sample traceability.
  • Perform any and all tasks assigned by the department Manager.

Requirements:

  • Varied postures, including sitting, standing, and leaning.
  • Ability to transport product, gauges, racks, and baskets from one area to another.
  • Use of Hand Carts - pushing.
  • Walking in general.
  • Pushing, carrying, or lifting up to max. 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Rolling thumb and fingers for ball rotation constantly daily.
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing Process.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2nd Shift position (training on 1st shift).
