Position Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Project Engineering Manager with expertise in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C). The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in the Chemical, Oil & Gas, or similar sectors.
The Project Engineering Manager will oversee a team of EI&C engineers, delivering project engineering and management services across various sites in the NCA region. This role encompasses all project phases, from feasibility studies and front-end engineering to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover to operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and manage EI&C components of capital projects, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers in developing project scope and execution strategies for EI&C engineering.
- Conduct safety, quality, and regulatory reviews as required by project specifications.
- Assist in creating detailed project cost estimates and manage budgets and cash flows.
- Formulate project execution strategies and schedules with precision.
- Ensure the delivery of EI&C engineering outputs.
- Coordinate with third-party contractors and other engineering disciplines.
- Monitor project progress and compile comprehensive reports, applying best practices in project management.
- Manage scope changes and priorities throughout project execution.
- Guarantee safe and compliant project execution and provide operational support during startup.
- Compile and deliver project as-built documentation.
- Support the development of specifications, standards, and codes.
- Collaborate with various departments to achieve optimal project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in chemical or electrical engineering.
- 8-13 years of professional experience in project management and engineering.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a relevant engineering field.
- Experience in the chemical industry or oil & gas operations is advantageous.
- Proficient in project management activities related to EI&C scope.
- Knowledge of power distribution systems and instrumentation technologies.
- Experience with control systems and E&I construction documentation.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and relevant codes.
- Ability to perform under schedule and cost pressures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
