Job Summary

Muskegon Community College, a leading institution of higher education, is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Instructors in the Nursing department. As a part-time adjunct instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach and facilitate student learning in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses, including day, night, and online classes, at the main campus in Muskegon, Michigan, and extension centers or clinical sites in West Michigan.
  • Establish and promote an effective learning environment that maximizes student learning.
  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations, and prepare and submit reports related to student learning.
  • Grade assignments in a meaningful way, return graded assignments to students in a timely manner, and assign final grades for all students, meeting or beating institutional deadlines.
  • Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled and posted times, or by appointment.
  • Encourage student opinion survey completion for each class and review summary information to assist with increasing student success.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required Skills:

  • MSN preferred, BSN may be considered for some positions.
  • Minimum two years' professional experience in nursing, clinical instruction/teaching experience preferred.
  • Prefer teaching experience at the college level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations representing a wide range of abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures.
  • Experience with instructional technology preferred.
