We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Therapist to join our team at Senior Living Communities. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for planning and executing activities for residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreational programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being for residents.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that activities are tailored to meet the needs of residents with varying abilities and interests.
  • Lead and participate in scheduled activities, encouraging resident participation and tracking attendance and satisfaction.
  • Develop relationships with local community organizations to provide opportunities for residents to engage in activities outside of the community.
  • Assist in providing adaptations for residents' individual needs, including environmental accessibility and leadership techniques.
  • Communicate with the Concierge to assist residents with sign-ups for transportation, activities, and outings.
  • Recruit, organize, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with activities and programming.
Requirements:
  • CPR and AED certification required (must be attained in first 60 days of employment).
  • Activities certification desired.
  • Four-year college or university degree in Recreation Therapy or similar field desired.
  • 12 years' experience with geriatrics required.
  • 12 years' experience in a similar activities position required.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook) plus the willingness to learn other computer programs if required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record as specified by the Company and by the Company's automobile insurance carrier.
Work Environment:
  • Work indoors for the majority of the work day (fluorescent lights, HVAC system, carpeted flooring, normal office noise levels).
  • Climb up to two flights of stairs occasionally.
  • Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head.
  • Move objects of 40 pounds or less.
  • Remain standing for extended periods.
  • Respond to medical emergencies if needed.
