Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Meat Department Lead to join our team at Lowes Foods. As a key member of our retail leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences and achieving maximum sales in the meat department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service: Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with guests, creating a welcoming environment through effective selling skills.
  • Sales and Operations: Achieve budgeted sales, supply, shrink, and gross profits for the meat department, while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supplies.
  • Product Preparation: Prepare products for sale according to Lowes Foods standards, including meat cutting, slicing, trimming, wrapping, weighing, and pricing.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain desired inventory levels and ensure timely ordering to meet guest demand.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Ensure high quality and freshness of products available for sale, maintain safety and sanitation standards in all areas, and perform product preparation, receiving, stocking, and guest service as necessary.
Requirements
  • Leadership Skills: Supervise and develop staff, providing guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to ensure satisfactory performance standards and guest interaction.
  • Technical Skills: Possess knowledge of meat products and operations, ability to read and understand information and directions, and operate a computer.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly, stand for extended periods, and bend, kneel, and move freely in the store environment.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in retail management or similar role, preferably in the meat department.
  • Certifications: Food safety certifications and other relevant licenses required.
Salary and Benefits

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
