Geospatial Technician

The Geospatial Technician assists in surveying land to determine location and measurements of points, elevations, line areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, or other purposes.

• Conduct field work on civil engineering, construction, and general surveying projects, including topographic, ALTA, boundary, Right of Way, and As-builts, Flood Elevation Certificates, Lot Surveys under the supervision of a senior survey technician.
• Maintain accurate records and sketches to describe work performed.
• Place stakes at designated points and drive them into the ground.
• Operate and maintain equipment, including a tablet computer, digital camera, survey grade GPS, robotic total stations, and other measuring tools, as well as Personal Protective Equipment.
• Represent JEO Consulting Group and our clients professionally in the field.
• Communicate effectively, both written and oral, daily with the project team.

• A high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required.
• Two years of experience in land surveying is preferred.
• Able to complete topographic surveys with assistance from a senior survey technician.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Efficient and safe work habits are essential.
• A valid driver's license with a driving record approved by our insurance provider is necessary.
