Role Overview

The Head of Software Engineering Operations will oversee multiple engineering scrum teams tasked with the design and development of cloud-based solutions tailored for the public sector. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering innovative and mission-critical cloud-based solutions for the public sector.
  • Leading discussions on software design and architecture with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Implementing development strategies for a geographically distributed organization to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Recruiting and mentoring team members while fostering high engagement and retention among technical staff.
  • Prioritizing initiatives that ensure timely delivery, superior product quality, and achievement of customer success metrics.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams to realize strategic objectives.
  • Building and managing software engineering teams comprised of diverse talent across various locations to develop and implement scalable enterprise-grade cloud applications, delivering high-quality business software through agile methodologies.
  • Translating the company's vision into actionable feature and technology roadmaps, developing new functionalities and enhancements on the ServiceNow platform, and envisioning future architectural improvements.
Qualifications

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree with over 5 years of experience managing an engineering organization with multiple scrum teams.
  • Experience in making complex business decisions with mid- to long-term implications.
  • A proven track record in driving vision and technology roadmaps.
  • Experience in developing enterprise applications on various platforms.
  • Expertise in directing the software development lifecycle, including design, development, delivery, and maintenance of enterprise software products.
  • Experience in cultivating and maintaining relationships with cross-functional technology, design, and product management teams to ensure aligned priorities and seamless execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and performance management skills, with a history of building, nurturing, and developing teams.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience managing an organization with multiple scrum teams focused on public sector cloud-based applications.
