Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and test electromechanical equipment, including parts and subassemblies, to ensure that it meets the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Inspect and test completed units to ensure that they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spotface bolt holes in parts, using drill press and portable power drill.
  • Position and align parts, using fixtures, jigs, and templates.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequence of electromechanical unit.
  • File, lap, and buff parts to fit, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Disassemble unit to replace parts or to crate for shipping.
  • Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies.
  • Attach name plates and marks identifying information on parts.
  • Perform basic pneumatic/hydraulic/conduit layout and hook-up.
Requirements
  • Knowledge equivalent to a basic high school vocational education with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, including decimals and fractions.
  • 2+ years of relevant work or industry experience.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers.
Working Conditions

The Electromechanical Equipment Assembler will work in a manufacturing environment with a significant degree of walking or standing, pushing and/or pulling arm or leg controls or constant pushing and/or pulling of materials. Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination are required. Part-time normal and part-time concentrated attention and manual coordination are also required.

PPE is required, including safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, etc., as needed in required areas.

Hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, micrometers, calipers, and drills are used in this role.
