Job Summary:

Gordon Food Service is seeking a skilled Freight Handler to join our team. As a Freight Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of products within our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Handling: Safely remove pallets of product from trailers and break down pallets to the correct height and width for storage in the warehouse.
  • Inventory Management: Separate inbound freight and ensure that all products are separated by item code onto pallets.
  • Warehouse Organization: Ensure the placement of product in sufficient quantities to accommodate routine and/or special demands.
  • Quality Control: Sort and dispose of boxes and other packaging materials in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.

Requirements:

  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods of time.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
