About The Position

Travel Nurse Source is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Endoscopy RN in Elmira, New York. As a Registered Nurse - GI Lab / Endoscopy, you will be responsible for providing care to patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.

Job Requirements
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients.
  • Provide care via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, environment/instrumentation, and collaboration with other health care team members.
  • Perform ongoing and systematic assessment/data collection focused on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status of patients.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses.
  • Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
  • Formulate a goal-directed plan of care based on nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
  • Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner.
  • Perform documentation duties that are timely, accurate, and concise.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care and progression toward patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate awareness and application of safety issues and protocols.
  • Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations, informing appropriate persons and documenting events.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and decision-making for designated patient populations.
  • Follow all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Incorporate hourly rounding into daily practice.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practices.
  • Maintain awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations to reduce risk.
  • Participate actively in staff development.
  • Formulate effective working relationships with health care team members, patients, and significant others.
  • Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant other rights.
  • Make decisions and take actions on behalf of patients in an ethical manner.
  • Remain aware of current nursing research and implement findings as applicable.
  • Establish priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources.
  • Collaborate with the patient, family, and other health care providers.
  • Demonstrate effective communication methods and skills.
