UCP of Maine is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) to make a positive impact in the lives of children and families within our service area.

As a BHP, you will play a vital role in fostering healthy family dynamics and empowering individuals with essential life skills. Your compassion and expertise will guide families towards achieving their goals and creating a more supportive environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and support to families, promoting positive interactions and communication.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Teach essential social, emotional, and problem-solving skills, equipping individuals with tools for success.
  • Serve as a role model, demonstrating empathy, respect, and understanding in all interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for families.

Qualifications:

  • At least 60 college credits in Social Services, Human Services, Health, or Education; OR
  • At least 90 college credits in an unrelated field; OR
  • A High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working with children in a behavioral health program.

Additional Requirements:

  • Provisional BHP certificate acquisition within 30 days of employment, followed by full BHP certification within a year (training available).
  • First Aid/CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens certification within 60 days of hire (training provided).
  • Completion of Safety Care training within 30 days of joining (training provided).
  • Possession of a valid State of Maine driver's license, access to reliable transportation with documented registration and insurance, and a willingness to use personal vehicle for work purposes.
