Job Summary

Emerald Resource Group is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician II to join our team in Coil Coating R&D. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for matching new colors in various coating systems, ensuring their performance, and preparing them for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct experiments and record observations under supervision.
  • Perform basic paint-formulation calculations, create paint samples, and apply them according to customer/industry specifications.
  • Run corrosion and color assessments and measurements.
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Operate basic equipment and order raw materials and supplies as needed.
  • Input data and technical documentation into lab books or databases daily.
  • Write reports outlining procedures used and results obtained.
  • Communicate routine information to supervisors and team members.
  • Organize work to use time efficiently and maintain a clean work area.
  • Comply with safety and security regulations and adhere to company standards.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Basic math skills and computer knowledge for inputting, communication, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with scientific principles, products, and/or processes.
  • Organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in a paint laboratory.
  • Coatings lab equipment knowledge and coatings drawdown application knowledge.
  • Experience working with solvent-based and waterborne coatings.
