Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at BrightStar Care. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation and development of individuals with mental, physical, or emotional disabilities.

About the Role

\

This is a full-time position that requires a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy and an active Texas Occupational Therapy License. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting occupational therapy programs to facilitate the development and rehabilitation of individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct occupational therapy programs to meet the needs and capabilities of individuals\
  • Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to select activity programs and coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities\
  • Select constructive activities suited to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interests\
  • Evaluate individual's progress and teach skills and techniques required for participation in activities\
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes\
  • Provide exceptional care and support to individuals and their families\
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized plans to address the unique needs of each individual\
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination\
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of individual's progress and treatment plans\
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in occupational therapy\
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve patient-centered goals and outcomes\
  • Provide education and support to individuals and families on coping strategies, self-care techniques, and community resources\
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance individual's independence, functional abilities, and overall quality of life\
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of new initiatives and programs\
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management\

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution\
  • An active Texas Occupational Therapy License\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and populations\
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills\
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment\
  • Passion for providing exceptional care and support to individuals and their families\
  • Compassion, empathy, and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities\
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development\
  • Strong organizational and time management skills\
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly\
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation\
  • First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)\
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays\
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office software\
  • Ability to lift, bend, and move equipment and supplies as needed\
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental factors related to working in healthcare settings\
