We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform computed tomography (CT) exams under the direction of a radiologist, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
- Assist physicians in selecting practical applications and technical factors for CT exams.
- Conduct daily quality control on Toshiba scanners and document all data in the QC log.
- Maintain a professional image that reflects the employee's role in healthcare, with confidence and a positive impression.
- Collaborate with staff members, management team, and interdepartmental staff to identify and initiate appropriate interventions to deal with problems, needs, and issues.
- Assist in the orientation of new personnel or trainees to the department, providing a friendly, encouraging, and supportive environment.
- Ensure a neat, clean, and safe environment for patients and other staff members, cleaning spills immediately.
- Verify correct procedure by checking physician orders on the chart and/or requisition, and contacting the physician with any discrepancies.
- Accurately review patient charts for physician orders, signing all orders, and obtaining relevant and accurate patient history using standardized forms.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and equipment, and obtaining written consent when necessary.
- Inspire confidence from radiologists by performing and communicating in a highly professional manner at all times.
- Document interventions in the Meditech System and Synapse, as evidenced by monthly reports.
- Utilize proper body mechanics to prevent injury to self and others, safely positioning, transferring, and transporting patients.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, universal protocol, patient ID, infection control, room cleaning, and isolation precautions.
- Registered and a graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology.
- Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required. One-year current experience as a staff technologist devoted full-time to CT, depending on the hospital's need at the time the vacancy is to be filled.
- Registered in active status by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Advanced certification for CT registry is required 24 months following completion of mandatory exam repetitions.
