Position Overview

The Preschool Assistant/Class Floater plays a vital role in supporting the seamless operation of our classroom environments. This position requires flexibility, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children in a dynamic educational setting. The ideal candidate will assist in various classrooms, helping to maintain the high standards of care and education that Excel Preparatory Preschool Academy is known for.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation: Assist in the implementation of our STEAM-based curriculum under the guidance of lead teachers, ensuring a cohesive and engaging learning experience for our students.
  • Classroom Support: Provide support across different classrooms, adapting to the needs of each age group and teacher, and helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
  • Engagement and Activities: Engage with children in a variety of activities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs are met, and promoting a love for learning.
  • Preparation and Setup: Help prepare materials and set up for daily activities, ensuring the learning environment is organized and conducive to child-led exploration.
  • Classroom Management: Assist with classroom management, including observing and documenting children's progress and behavior, and helping to maintain a positive and respectful classroom culture.
  • Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities related to STEAM education and early childhood development, ensuring our staff remains up-to-date with best practices.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with lead teachers, staff, and parents, ensuring a collaborative and supportive community that promotes the well-being of our students.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and policies to ensure the well-being of all students and staff.
  • Facility and Class Operations: Assist with facility and class operations, including the school lunch program, to ensure a smooth and efficient daily routine.
