Professor, Tenure Track Position

The University of South Carolina's College of Engineering and Computing is seeking a Tenured or Tenure-Track faculty member in Industrial and Systems Engineering. This is an excellent opportunity for a scholar to join a vibrant research community and contribute to the growth of the department.
Responsibilities- Develop and sustain an independent, nationally recognized research program in Industrial Engineering
- Teach and develop Industrial/General Engineering curriculum at the undergraduate level
- Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams of faculty and other researchers across colleges and institutions
- Be engaged in professional activities
Applicants for the Assistant Professor rank must possess a PhD degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, or a closely related field by the start date of employment, a demonstrated record of research accomplishments, and an outstanding capacity for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
Applicants for the ranks of Associate Professor and Full Professor must also have years of relevant academic experience commensurate with academic policy, plus a strong, sustained record of excellence in teaching and research, including competitive funding and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Preferred QualificationsSuccessful candidates will be expected to develop internationally recognized, externally funded research programs in cutting-edge areas of industrial engineering.
They should have a background in operational research applied to engineering fields such as transportation engineering, healthcare, supply chain management, manufacturing, energy, environmental, systems design, or others.
Ability to effectively teach a variety of courses for undergraduate students in industrial engineering, including Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, and Human Factors/Ergonomics, is also required.
