About the Role

Pacific Rail Services is a leading intermodal ramp services provider in the United States, handling over 8 million lifts per year. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations at our Rossville, TN rail terminal.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced manager to lead our team and oversee the safe and efficient operation of our terminal. The successful candidate will have a strong background in railroad industry operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise subordinate personnel to ensure all work is accomplished consistently with organizational requirements.
  • Conduct employee training sessions on hazardous material handling, quality improvements, and computer usage.
  • Participate in union contract negotiations and settlements of grievances.
  • Collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Monitor operations to ensure compliance with administrative policies, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
  • Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Advanced knowledge of railroad industry operations from vocational education, apprenticeship, or similar work experience.
  • Ability to assist in conflict resolution and mediation between co-workers, with excellent communication skills.
  • Proven managerial skills, including leadership, motivation, and understanding of collective bargaining agreements, government regulations, and industry standards.

Work Environment
