Position Summary
We are in search of a dedicated Custodian and Maintenance Technician with a solid mechanical background and exceptional cleaning skills. In this role, you will ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of various areas within the facility, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and production areas. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic, committed to maintaining high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Regular attendance is crucial for this position, contributing to both personal effectiveness and team performance.
- Timely and accurate data entry into the maintenance management system.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Conduct cleaning duties in offices, lobbies, restrooms, break rooms, locker areas, outdoor spaces, and production floors.
- Responsibilities include debris removal, supply restocking, sanitizing surfaces, cleaning windows, dusting, and floor maintenance.
- Ensure proper functioning of drains and perform unclogging as necessary. Clean water dispensers and emergency wash stations.
- Utilize cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to instructions and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Manage waste disposal in plant, office, and cafeteria areas.
- Execute floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
- Maintain cleanliness of windows and sills.
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and reorder as needed.
- Follow the established cleaning schedule as directed.
- Maintain the exterior of the building, including landscaping and snow removal as required.
- Ensure the use of clean tools and equipment for all tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 0-1 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
- Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
- A valid U.S. driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
Preferred Experience:
- At least one year of experience in custodial or maintenance roles.
- Commitment to safety and promoting a secure work environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective information exchange.
- Ability to manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Organizational skills are important.
- Basic maintenance experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools and computer systems.
- Understanding of measurement tools and techniques.
- Training in CPR and first aid may be required.
- Knowledge of safety protocols such as lockout/tagout and fall protection is beneficial.
- Experience in plumbing is preferred.

- Some tasks may require working in confined spaces.
- Close vision and depth perception may be necessary for certain tasks.
- Driving is a key function of this role; a clean driving record is essential.
