Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology team at Northwest Community Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound scans to assist physicians in diagnosing medical disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures independently, operating stationary and portable ultrasound units.
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and respond to their questions, utilizing AIDET concepts in all customer interactions.
  • Monitor patients' conditions frequently, reporting any critical changes to the Radiologist or nurse.
  • Assist patients from wheelchairs to examining tables, ensuring patient privacy and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Enter correct patient demographics into ultrasound units and prepare and label ultrasound films with patient information.
  • Maintain equipment and accessories, performing quality control checks on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the training of technologists and students, adhering to all hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Knowledge normally obtained through an accredited Ultrasound program, including clinical training.
  • Current certification as a RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer), RT(S), RT (VS), RVT, or RVS, or registry eligibility with a commitment to obtain certification within 24 months.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics and current CPR certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other hospital staff.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with hourly on-call responsibilities. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment, requiring the ability to work efficiently and cope with urgent and emergent situations.
