Financial Crimes Prevention Analyst

As a BSA & Fraud Prevention Intern at Stock Yards Bank and Trust, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in preventing financial crimes, monitoring suspicious activities, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in compliance, fraud prevention, and the banking industry.
The primary responsibilities of this role include collaborating with compliance officers to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations related to BSA, AML, and fraud. You will also be responsible for preparing reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders, supporting Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes, and assisting in monitoring transactions to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
You will work closely with the fraud prevention team to analyze transactional patterns and detect potential fraudulent activities, as well as assist in investigations into fraud cases and prepare documentation for reporting. Additionally, you will stay up-to-date on regulatory changes and industry best practices in fraud prevention and compliance, and suggest improvements to existing BSA/AML and fraud prevention processes using data-driven insights.
This position requires strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools. The successful candidate will also have a strong communication and documentation skills, ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, and knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, fraud prevention techniques, or financial crime investigation.
