Summary Statement

This position outlines the supervisory role within the nursing classification. Individuals in this role report directly to an administrative supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

The following functions are essential and represent core responsibilities common to this classification. This list is not exhaustive and may include additional duties as necessary: Administers or assesses direct nursing services. Formulates, executes, and/or evaluates nursing care strategies. Offers health education and support to individuals, families, community organizations, and/or healthcare facilities regarding their health management. Fosters collaborative relationships with other members of the healthcare team. Documents and submits necessary records, reports, assessments, and forms. Engages in quality assurance initiatives and provides recommendations.

Job Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS for Nursing Supervisor
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

A minimum of three years of experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Bachelor's degree in Nursing accompanied by at least two years of Registered Nurse experience OR a Master's degree in Nursing with at least one year of Registered Nurse experience. Possession of a valid Registered Nurse license in Delaware or a multi-state compact license. Understanding of staff management acquired through formal education, training provided by an employer, or experience in a leadership role overseeing the work of others; OR experience in managing staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating their work; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a team of professional, technical, and clerical personnel.
