Electrical Test Technician

Your primary function will be to perform electrical, electronic, and mechanical testing for single car and multi-car testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support train testing of all electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, identifying and troubleshooting issues as required.
  • Perform continuity, voltage, and current checks on train systems wiring, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Conduct pneumatic and/or hydraulic system functional testing, verifying correct operation.
  • Accurately document test reports and associated paperwork, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Develop test procedures and reports for all systems based on engineering documentation, customer specifications, and Alstom information.
  • Analyze system faults and repetitive issues, providing feedback and implementing solutions to improve overall performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and vendors to resolve issues, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Provide technical expertise and knowledge to support all groups within the organization.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and correct wiring issues on various train networks, including Ethernet, LAN, and CAN Bus.
  • Upload software in all systems components, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in electrical, electronic, or related field preferred; advanced experience and/or relevant qualifications/training considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Sound mechanical aptitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime, odd hours, weekends, and various shifts as required.
  • Adherence to all safety requirements and regulations.
  • Working knowledge and ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • Experience with electronic equipment, including power supplies, voltage/continuity/current meters, data recorders/loggers, gauges, and Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/Word.
