POSITION OVERVIEW
The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) South Georgia is seeking a full-time educator specializing in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM). The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering lectures and conducting skills laboratory sessions for medical students. The ideal candidate should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and possess strong organizational skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instruct osteopathic medical students through lectures and laboratory sessions across all four years of the curriculum.
- Design, assess, and present course materials related to Osteopathic Principles and Practice.
- Facilitate the education of osteopathic medical students, graduate students, interns, and residents through various teaching methods, including classroom instruction and small group discussions.
- Engage in leadership roles and participate in college and faculty committees.
- Attend professional and scientific meetings to enhance personal knowledge and contribute to the professional development of peers.
- Assess student performance in acquiring essential medical knowledge and provide constructive feedback.
- Serve as a course director or facilitator for the OPP lecture and laboratory series as assigned.
- Take on additional responsibilities such as site visits, faculty development, and mentoring junior faculty and students.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, learning objectives, and evaluation of student outcomes.
- Participate in inter-professional education initiatives and clinical reasoning training.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students in career planning and examination preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities:
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Comprehensive understanding of Osteopathic Principles and Practice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems.
- Experience with video conferencing tools.
Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree is required.
- A minimum of five years of relevant clinical or academic experience in ONMM.
- Prior experience in classroom instruction and laboratory teaching is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Board certification or eligibility in ONMM or NMM/OMM is strongly preferred.
- Active medical license in Georgia in good standing.
The salary range is based on PCOM's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education, and skill level.
